It's been quite the humid week! Gotta love Nebraskan summers! Update on the hives...they got a lot worse this week actually. They're huge and extremely itchy and painful. I haven't slept all week because they keep me up all night! I've tried everything....Benadryl, prednisone, anti-itch cream, coconut oil, etc. It's really pretty sad. Sister Strong and I have to keep our creams in our bags and in between every lesson we have to cream ourselves up and sometimes even during meal appointments we'll rush into the bathroom so we don't itch ourselves to death! Sister Gardner has been checking up on us all week and finally told us we need to see a dermatologist, so we'll hopefully be able to get in sometime. Quite the journal entry for this week :)
Anyways, Monday we got to see Christina. Her and Josh are split up because they just don't work well together. They both have pretty bad mental problems so they always clash so Christina's kind of a mess. Poor thing.
Tuesday we saw a bunch of people. We taught Dusty some of the commandments and did a fun activity with her since she's a visual learner and loves to color, we decided to bring paper and markers so she could draw pictures of each of the commandments. She loved it :) She's totally going to be able to be baptized on the 15th and she is so excited about it. She has changed so much since we've been teaching her. She's so much happier and energetic! I love that the gospel does that to us :) We also saw Joe...haha and he proposed to me. He's like in his 50s and like I've said before, he acts like he's 12. He told me that he wants to go to Hawaii and get married. He's hilarious. We met a potential named Nathan who just came from Africa. We seem to find a lot of people at Jackson towers. It's kinda fun. They're all kinda crazy, but Nathan seems pretty normal. Hopefully we'll get to see him again this week! We also saw Sister Finley, Monica, and Brother Powell. Love them all! We work with a lot of less actives, and they all have mental problems so it's a struggle sometimes to get them to keep our commitments or anything.
Wednesday we had district meeting in the morning and I was asked to give a training on repentance. Haven't given a district training in a long time, so that was great! Then we were at the TC that night.
Thursday we saw Brother Porter and Dusty again. Also saw Annette and watched the Restoration video with her. She likes to talk a lot so we thought if we watched something with her then she wouldn't talk as much. It worked! President Gardner gave a fireside on Friday and wanted to have a bunch of musical numbers, so he asked me to accompany Savior, Redeemer of my Soul. His daughter came out here and played the piano and Sisters Funk and Smith sang so we had a practice at the church after dinner that night and then stayed for a mental health activity with the relief society. Dusty and Sister LaPier came and both loved it!
Friday we were at the TC in the morning and then helped Sister Oltman decorate for her daughter, Alta's, wedding reception. It was so gorgeous and so much fun! Then we went back to the TC for a practice for the musical numbers. The fireside was excellent. It was all about the Restoration and there were SO many people there. Some elders sang Praise to the Man for a musical number, and then a lot of us sisters sang an arrangement of Joseph Smith's First Prayer for a musical number, and then we had Savior, Redeemer of my Soul at the very end. It was a hard piece to play, and I didn't have a lot of time to practice, but it turned out to be absolutely beautiful!
Saturday we just weekly planned and then served at the TC that night. Not too interesting. And then Sunday we had 3 investigators at church which was excellent! Then we got to help clean the church that night. I know...weird that they were cleaning it on a Sunday night. But since there was a reception Saturday night and then a funeral this morning, they got special permission to clean it Sunday night so it could be ready for the funeral. Then we saw Sister LaPier after that. Anyways, it was a great week and I hope you all had a great week also! I love you so much and pray for you always! Love you!
Sister Ferrara :)
